Primetel is delighted to announce the launch of a Student Mental Health Club at Sinoni Primary School, bringing together a pioneering cohort of 30 students committed to learning, supporting one another, and becoming champions of mental wellbeing.
Why This Matters
Mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, and depression increasingly affect young people in Tanzania, often silently impacting their academic performance and overall wellbeing. By introducing a mental health club at the primary school level, Primetel is ensuring that conversations about wellbeing begin early, empowering students to grow with awareness, resilience, and confidence.
What the Club Offers
The Sinoni Mental Health Club will provide:
Peer support sessions where students can openly share experiences and concerns.
Guided trainings facilitated by Primetel’s mental health professionals.
School-based activities to promote awareness and reduce stigma.
Linkages to care through Primetel’s USSD-powered telehealth platform, ensuring students and families can easily access additional support.
A Step Toward Sustainable Change
This milestone at Sinoni Primary marks the beginning of a broader vision—establishing sustainable mental health clubs across schools in Monduli District and beyond. By starting with young learners, we are shaping a future where every student has the tools, knowledge, and safe spaces needed to thrive academically and personally.
“We are so proud of the students at Sinoni Primary for taking this bold step. This club is not just about awareness; it is about creating a culture of care and resilience that will ripple across families and communities,” — Emmanuel Samwel, Founder & Executive Director, Primetel.
