Primetel is proud to announce the expansion of its USSD platform (*149*46*22#), bringing a broader range of healthcare services directly into the hands of Tanzanians. This milestone marks a major step forward in our mission to make holistic, accessible healthcare a reality for all.
The updated platform now allows users to access not only mental health support but also a wide suite of new services, including:
1. Primary Care – connecting communities to everyday medical services.
2. Pharmacy Support – guidance and access to essential medicines.
3. Outreach Services – linking users to ongoing community health programs.
4. Emergency Support – quick connections for urgent health needs.
5. Mental Health Self-Screening – empowering individuals to monitor their wellbeing.
6. Laboratory Services – referrals for vital diagnostic testing.
To further improve the patient experience, the platform now features automated appointment reminders, ensuring that clients stay on track with their care. Behind the scenes, significant upgrades to data processing and backend systems have made the platform faster, more reliable, and more secure.
“This innovation is about more than technology,” said Emmanuel - Primetel's Founder, “It is about reimagining healthcare access for rural and underserved communities across Tanzania. With every upgrade, we are making it easier for people to get the care they need — when and where they need it.”
As Primetel continues to grow, the USSD platform remains at the core of our mission: combining simplicity, innovation, and compassion to transform healthcare delivery.
